Test Criteria

X-ray of the sacroiliac joint is a test to visualise the area of the back where the spine joins with the pelvis (hip bones).

This test is prescribed by the doctor to look for and diagnose the cause of lower back pain which could be due to sacroilitis (inflammation of this joint) or ankylosing spondylitis (a form of arthritis that affects the spine).
