Test Criteria

X-Ray Left Wrist AP and LAT Views is a safe test used to visualize all the bones of the left wrist joint, soft tissues, skin and muscle, and the forearm bones. This is done to diagnose any fracture of the bones, detect any abnormal growths, infections, swelling, or dislocation of joints. Orthopedics often recommend this view before performing the wrist surgery to plan the operation. This X-Ray can also detect healing post-surgery.

Your doctor may suggest you take this test if you have met with an accident or have pain in the wrist bone. While the X-Ray itself is safe and painless, you may experience discomfort if you had recent surgery or an injury. The overall test may take 15-20 minutes.
