Description
Test Criteria
X-ray finger AP & LAT right side is recommended by doctors to find the cause of pain, tenderness, swelling, or deformity in the finger. LAT stands for the Lateral view that demonstrates the finger in the lateral position, and in the AP (or anteroposterior) view, the beams pass from front to back. The AP view is performed to ascertain which finger is being imaged with adjacent fingers in the field of view.
The AP and Lat projection post-surgery also helps determine whether the bones have healed properly or are set in alignment. The overall test may take 15 minutes, but the exposure time to radiation is less than a second. This test is safe and pain-free.
