Test Criteria

X-Ray Right Hip Joint AP & LAT View is used to find a fracture and early diagnose recurrent hip issues, such as osteoarthritis. The hip joint may be imaged from a variety of angles. An anteroposterior (AP) picture and a lateral (LAT) image are often included in a conventional hip X-ray examination. The AP picture should ideally show both hip joints (which technically makes it a pelvic X-ray) compared with the other hip.

The lateral direction can be chosen for frog-leg lateral images. Other radiographic views can offer a more comprehensive image of the patient’s anatomy, allowing physicians to check hidden fractures that are specifically displaced and may not be visible on the AP or lateral views.
